Salsa

Where better to learn Salsa than Cuba itself, the home of the dance. With colourful street music, and bars and hotels offering the activity, it is difficult not to be a part of it. Most beach hotels offer lessons of the most popular dances including mambo and salsa. If you fancy a dance holiday, we have qualified dance instructors in Havana who will give you lessons in the morning with a dance partner if needed and then in the afternoon you will be able to explore the city and surrounding areas at your leisure. In the evening you can meet up with the instructors and dancers to salsa the night away. After your stay in Havana we can organise a stay at the beach, or visit more of Cuba. If you are in a Salsa group in the UK and would like to organise a group tour for yourself and your friends give us a call, no group is too large or too small.

Fishing

big_india

There are three types of fishing in Cuba; marine fishing with light or heavy tackle, and freshwater fishing: all ideal for a Cuba fishing holiday. Beaked fish and barracudas can be caught off the eastern Havana beaches. One of the best places to stay for Marlin fishing is Marina Hemingway in Havana or Brisas Trinidad del Mar in Trinidad.

If you wish to charter a yacht, it is best to do it from the resort you are staying. Alternatively, a cheaper way is to chat to the local fishermen who will take you out on their boats for a small price.

Scuba diving

big_india

Cuba has over 3,500 miles of coastline and some of the most unspoiled diving locations. The waters around Cuba are warm with temperatures ranging between 23°C and 30°C. With visibility of up to 30 metres, you will find a vast array of diving possibilities at any of the locations around the island, including:

Cayo Levisa

The reef runs parallel to the bay and then drops off to 50 metres. The current is quite gentle, making it ideal for beginners and experts. Here you are likely to see Angelfish, barracuda, jacks, black coral trees and extra large sponges.

Maria La Gorda

Leading to the Cayman Trench, some of the best diving in Cuba is to be found here, listed as a top 10 world dive site, the warm sheltered bay has excellent visibility all year round. Most of the dive sites include bits of old wrecks including Spanish galleons, caves, tunnels and drop offs stretching all along the coast. Here you are likely to see barracudas, moray eels, lobsters, grunts and even whale sharks.

Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth)

From the marina on the west coast you can reach over 60 buoyed dives, count over 45 corals and swim through caves, tunnels, valleys and deep canals. Cabo Frances is where the best dive sites are.

Cayo Largo

There are two main dive areas, one in the north and one in the south but the island has really strong currents and ideally suited to the experienced diver.

Faro de Luna, Cienfuegos

Here there are over 18 reef sites and plentiful wrecks, including seven that have been sunk for dives just outside the harbour. Here you will see large schools of Red snapper grouper, hogfish and jacks. La Corona is well known as you often see whale sharks here.

Other diving sites include Varadero, Cayo Coco, Santa Lucia, Guardalavaca and Santiago de Cuba. There are diving schools in local towns, at your hotel or on the beach.

Weddings

Getting married in Cuba is quite easy when using one of the international chain hotels. We can book your wedding and/or honeymoon for you and your partner, or you can take family and friends with you.

Cuba has a wealth of flora and fauna and provides a range of habitats, which are home to some of the most unique creatures on earth. Its mountainous area, treeless plains, mangrove forests and tropical climate are a haven for wildlife and will amaze travellers who enjoy nature.
