The lure of playing golf in Costa Rica is quite simple: Costa Rica is a beautiful country that naturally provides stunning locations for golf courses.
Pack your golf clubs! Play the spectacular championship Robert Trent Jones ll course at Playa Conchal, George Fazion's highly regarded Cariari Country club course, Hacienda Pinilla, the creation of Mike Young or at any of the other magnificent Costa Rican courses including Valle de Sol. You can play as much or as little golf as you want, with no hassle tee-times, the enjoyment of playing unhurried rounds of golf and the knowledge that any non-playing partners are having a wonderful time, doing exactly what they want to do too.

Cariari Country Club
An unforgettable and most enjoyable playing experience can be found at this championship course, designed by George Fazio and built on what was previously a coffee plantation!
This well-manicured course, one of the best in the country, was the first and only 18 hole golf course in all of Central America for nearly two decades and has been host to golfing events such as the Central and South American Open, co-sponsored by the U.S. Professional Golfer's Association, and the Friendship Tournament. The course is heavily wooded with narrow fairways and only a few fairway bunkers with the Bermuda grass greens fairly large, fast and well-bunkered.

Reserva Conchal
This beautiful seaside golf course sits in one of the most picturesque settings in all of Costa Rica. Open and forgiving, good scores are common on the very first round here. Consistently ranked as a top 100 golf resort in the world, the luxurious Paradisus Playa Conchal All Suite Beach and Golf Resort on the Pacific Coast of north-west Costa Rica brings a defining border of beach, hibiscus, palm, red brick pathways and stucco villas to this golf course.
The course was designed in the classic tradition of the game by Robert Trent Jones II, and is today something of an ecological treasure as it snakes from the sea to the hills of an old teak ranch and then back to the sea again, finishing with a bending par 5 that arcs like a lion's claw to the last pin.

Hacienda Pinilla
Surrounded by hundreds of acres of undeveloped Costa Rican grassland and forest, Hacienda Pinilla is the creation of Mike Young. This 7,500 yard, par 72 masterpiece remains a golf course that is as yet undiscovered by the international golfing community despite having opened in 2000.
The course has two distinct sides. The ocean nine has three holes with great ocean views, the waves whimper or crashing, depending upon the wind, onto a shore not more than a half-wedge from the pin. Other holes on this half of the course show extreme concern for the environment with broad waste areas left untouched for wildlife with plenty of the dramatic and spreading Matapalo trees, trees that look like they are out of Lord of the Rings because of the way spreading vines work their way up into the trees' branches. Bunkers have steep cut sides, the Scottish angular flair of some will cast a shadow across the green and bring a sharp contrast to holes, and the fairways are thick with turf that slow the roll in the lush season and bring a big roll in the dry season.

Valle de Sol
This 18 hole championship, par 72, golf course stretches for 6,750 yards and offers ample and waved fairways surrounded by majestic trees and 5 large lakes. Surrounded by tropical and exuberant gardens, the greens represent a perfectly smooth and quick area, built under the specifications given by the United Sates Golf Associate (USGA) and are a great challenge for any golfer.
Each hole offers an average of four to five tees for different levels of the game, which makes it a great challenge for professionals and still a great pleasure for those of us who can just about hit the ball in the right direction of the hole. This exciting course is a fun and memorable experience for all those fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to play here. Its well-groomed fairways, separated by tropical trees, colourful gardens, and small lakes, double as wildlife habitats for migratory birds, native waterfowl and freshwater fish. With the nearby mountains always within view, and the mixture of unusual landscapes filled with intensely flowering gardens, Valle del Sol enjoys a distinctive Costa Rican tropical atmosphere.
