Exotic landscape

Larger than France or Kenya and more than 1,600 kilometres from north to south, the mixed topography of Madagascar gives rise to its astonishing biological diversity and remarkable scenery. Its 5,000 kilometres of coastline is made up of mangrove reserves, stunning white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, uninhabited land and coral reef. Madagascar has indeed been geographically blessed.

Unique wildlife species

Madagascar is often referred to as the eighth continent, made up of endemic flora, fauna and wildlife species. It is most famous for its 50 species of lemurs; these bright eyed mammals are often seen along with geckoes and chameleons.

Tropical climate

Madagascar has five distinct climates zones. Broadly speaking, Madagascar lies in the Southern Hemisphere with a tropical climate. Expect dry winter months from April to October and wetter and hotter summer months from December to March. Whale watching season is from July to September when humpback whales come into the St Marie channel to mate and give birth.
