Essaouira is one of the most unforgettable cities of Morocco. Situated only 180 kms west of Marrakech, south of Casablanca on the Atlantic coast and described as’ little Marrakech on the sea’.
Formerly known as Mogador, it is famous for its multiple shades of blue. Blue skies, deep blue sea, blue trawlers and sardine boats loaded with their catch of the day, blue shutters and doors on bright white walls.

Essaourira is the perfect place to relax, the city offers the perfect combination of beach and city together. Meander along the narrow streets to the markets full of local products to the median for coffee in the plazas before visiting the port with the rampart overhanging the seas. The large sandy beach is full of watersports and fun activities such a camel riding and dune bikes; famous for it seafood in a Moroccan style it has many restaurants offering the superb local wine.
Essaouira is located in a semi-tropical zone the Ataltantic wind brings a cool release from the heat of the Marrakech The average high temperature for the city during the summer is in the mid 80's, somewhat cooler than the temperatures in inland Morocco because of it coastal location. During the winter months, Essaouira's high temperatures average in the 60's during the winter (December - February), also a bit cooler than inland. Rainfall in Essaouira comes mainly from November through March, the rest of the year being very dry with little or no precipitation.
Visitors come to Essaouira all year long, but the majority in the warmer spring and summer months to enjoy the city's beaches and resorts.
