Don't miss the spice market in the mellah (old Jewish neighbourhood), the Moroccan handicraft skills at the Semmarine Souk and the Jewellers souks selling excellent and high quality items.

Many treasures, especially the famous Riads are hidden away in Marrakesh. Riads are houses, built around a central patio, whose outside walls are entirely closed. They are often converted into guesthouses or restaurants and are a symbol of the Moroccan art of fine living.
