White Water Rafting

Sri Lanka offers some excellent white water rafting. The main area is at Kitulgala in the hill country. The spectacular river scenery here is famous for the filming of the film 'Bridge over the River Kwai'. There are a number of trips on the river for all standards from novice to expert.

The typical trip takes in seven class 2-3 rapids but there are more-difficult class 4-5 rapids for those rafters who have some experience - and possibly more courage!
