Central Valley National Parks

"Both are excellent parks for walking and spotting wildlife. Abundant with birds, lemurs and reptiles, take plenty of water and comfortable walking boots."

The journey south takes you through some stunning countryside down to the Central Valley National Parks. Ranomafana National Park, north of Fianarantsoa covers 40,000 and has 26 species of mammals and 96 species of birds. Continue on down through the centre of the country and you come to Isalo National Park. Isalo is great for trekking and your tour can be made to suit your level of fitness. With deep canyons and vertical walled gorges this is a very beautiful area.

In addition to waterfalls and natural swimming pools, you can expect to see lemurs, chameleons and geckos but also many sacred burial sites of the local Bara people.
