This hotel is in the Sacred Valley, a one hour drive away from Cusco. As it is at a lower altitude than Cusco it is the ideal area to acclimatise in before visiting Machu Picchu. The Sol y Luna has 28 individual bungalows (“Muyus”) which are beautifully designed and decorated in warm yellow colours each with a red tile roof and flower-rimmed verandas.Facilities include a tennis court, pool and stunning spa. The hotel also has its own ranch with famous Peruvian Paso horses – guests can arrange for horse riding excursions.

ACCOMMODATION


The Lodge designed around stunning gardens of vibrant colours, reflected in the colour of the buildings, local art work adorns the walls and the grounds create a relaxing inspiring feel.

There are three types of bungalows – the Standard bungalow which are lovely, made from adobe brick and stone, filled with light and colour – each with it’s own terrace. Deluxebungalows with their avant-garde architecture and colourful Peruvian folk art. The Premiumbungalow offers luxury that is exquisite rather than ostentatious with a fireplace within the 120 metres of space and a Jacuzzi on the terrace.


LOCATION


The hotel is located in Urubamba in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. At an altitude of 2990 metres and 1 hour drive from Cusco and the airport it is an excellent place to acclimatise. Situated in it’s own quiet oasis with views of the high mountains it is the perfect base to explore the Sacred Valley.

This peaceful and luxurious hotel is a place to look forward to on your return each time. As it has it’s own ranch you can also explore the surrounding area on horse back if you wish.


WHAT TO DO


Minutes away from the hotel, you can find important archaeological sites such as: Moray, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero and Machu Picchu. Activities from the lodge include; mountain biking trails, ATV (quad bike) adventure, hiking, kayaking or for the more adventurous Tandem Paragliding.

Most famously the lodge has its own beautiful Ranch Wayra – which has Peruvian Paso horses. The Peruvian Paso is a unique breed, characterised by its velvety and lilting gait. An experienced rider will discover a distinct way of riding, while a beginner will find no difficulty in enjoying the gentleness of the gait.
