Peru

In 2016 British Airways started a new direct flight from Gatwick to Lima available between months March-October. There are other options via European cities, various US cities – some operating from regional UK airports, for clients preferring to avoid travelling to a London airport.

Within Peru, the quickest and most convenient method of getting between most areas is by flying on the large domestic flight network. Of course to visit Machu Picchu clients can take the Classic 4-day 3-night Inka Trail trek. There are alternative treks on offer now – including the very comfortable Mountain Lodges of Peru product which gives the option of not having to trek & instead of camping, stay in lovely lodges en route. Then there is the easiest option taking the train to the town & then the bus to Machu Picchu. There are several options for the train journey – from a more basic train all the way up to the luxury Belmond Hiram Bingham service.

Another Belmond train service is the Andean Explorer Train. From May 2017 this will be a brand new train operates as a luxury sleeper train, stopping en route to make local visits. This new service will operate Arequipa via Puno (Lake Titicaca) to Cusco & vice versa.

Within our clients’ itineraries we can combine private transfers, domestic flights and train journeys to suit personal preferences and budget.
